Last season Emelogu made his debut in proffessional basketball for the Polish side Arka Asseco Grynia. In 10 EuroCup games, the Avtodor newcomer averaged 8.7 points (43% of three-pointers), 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.6 steals for 21.4 minutes played. His average statistics in 17 PLK games were 7.7 points (38% of three-pointers), 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.9 steals for 21.1 minutes played.
In college basketball Emelogu competed for Southern Methodist University (Texas) for 4 years. The American forward helped his team to win the NCAA American Athletic Conference both in 2015 and 2017. In 2017, he was also named the All-AAC Best Sixth Player Of The Year. The Avtodor newcomer played 33 games in his senior 2017-18 NCAA season averaging 10.6 points (47% of three-pointers), 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals for 31.7 minutes.
