Carmichael will join the team on 10th September directly at the practice camp in Italy. Last season the Avtodor newcomer played for Usak Sportif. His average statistics in 23 games of the Turkish Superleague were 13.4 points, 7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 blocked shots & 0.8 steals for 29.7 minutes. Jackie also received the TBSL Player of the Week award twice during the 2017-18 season becoming the fourth on blocked shots in the league.

In Europe Carmichael played for Bilbao Basket (Spain), Banvit Bandirma (Turkey), Maccabi Rison Le Zion & Maccabi Ashdod (both from Israel). The Illinois State university alumni tried to get to the NBA through the NBA Summer League playing for Miami Heat, Dallas Maverics & Indiana Pacers. Additionally the Avtodor newcomer tried himself in the NBA D-League for Iowa Energy and was selected in the NBA D-League All-Rookie Third Team.
