One Shot Away From Win

Avtodor cut the score to a minimum with one minute to play but couldn't curb the hosts and suffered an upset 83-84 road loss against Nevezis Kedainiai in the Group B of FIBA Europe Cup.

Nevezis Kedainiai: Likhodey (16+6 rebounds+3 assists), Kuksiks (16+2 rebounds+1 assists+1 blocked shot), Woodard (14+3 assists+2 rebounds+2 steals).

It is interesting to note that Avtodor lost the game although they made only 5 (!) turnovers for 40 minutes, won the boards, scored 15 second-chance points against only 6 second-chance points by the hosts, as well as five Avtodor players finished in two-digit numbers. The key of Nevezis win is a higher percentage of threes. The Lithuanian squad made 10 of 22 threes (45%) whilst the visitors scoring only 7 of 27 three-pointers (26%). Avtodor had all chances to win the game at the end. However, Frazier's last shot was blocked by Kuksiks who brought a tough 84-83 victory to Nevezis.

Avtodor will play their next game at home on Saturday, 28th October, at 17.00 (Saratov time) against Kalev Tallinn in the VTB United League regular season.
