“After all what happened with our team, how we travelled and the schedule we had tonight it was exactly what I was scared. We played two tough games of the ABA Supercup, then we travelled all night long, arrived in Saratov at 7 o’clock in the morning and tried to have a rest. We started the game very bad. Avtodor gained a big lead already in the first period. During the game we had only one time when we came back in the third quarter and were down only by eight points. But then our best shooter Vranjes missed some open shots after which the host team gained an advantage once again and we had no chance to come back. Definitely we had problems under the basket. Avtodor benefited from that and killed us there. At the same time on the other side of the court we scored many easy points from the paint. We knew Avtodor Saratov is a strong team before we came here. We tried to stop their good shooters but honestly speaking I’m not satisfied about that. We were playing so soft under the basket and let Avtodor to shoot with 56% from the two-point area. They didn’t shoot so well in the previous games. Tonight we allowed Avtodor to score too many easy points under the basket.

What are your expectations from the second game in Montenegro?

Of course every game is different. Avtodor will have a big 18-point advantage but we are not going to show the white flag in the second game. We will try to do our best. For sure it will not be an easy task for us to advance to the next round. However, we will undoubtedly fight.”
