Following the completion of the 11th edition of the Caorle tournament it's interesting to note that Avtodor head coach Andrea MAZZON has become the first coach ever who won this competition for 3 times with 3 different clubs.

In the debut of the last quarter Sheleketo scored 5 points in a row after lay-up and long-range shot allowing Avtodor to make a 7-point gap (57-50). That was probably the crucial point of the game. After that Avtodor was controlling the flow of the final. To cut the score difference to "-4" or "-5" points was a maximum for Openjob Varese until the last minute. Clarke's three-pointer practically decided the game with 2:24 to go (68-59). In the endgame, however, the team from Saratov allowed the Italian squad to come closer when they scored 7 unanswered points with Waller making a three with 10 seconds remaining. But successful free throws by Clarke and Downs gave no chance to Openjobmetis Varese. Avtodor Saratov gained a confident 71-66 win to become the owner of the XI Torneo Internazionale citta di Caorle trophy! Our team has got the first trophy of the new season!

After the end of the final game Avtodor center Artem KLIMENKO was named the MVP of the XI Torneo Internazionale citta di Caorle.

Already on Sunday, 17th September, our team will fly out from Italy to Cyprus where they are going to start their 2017-18 Basketball Champions League campaign with the Qualification Round road game against Keravnos Nicosia to be played on Tuesday, 19th September, at 7.00pm (Saratov time).
