He received his award yesterday in Saratov following the regular-season game between Avtodor and VEF (96-84) from VTB United League general director Ilona Korstin and Avtodor president Vladimir Rodionov.

Nick MINNERATH played 22 games for Avtodor this season, averaging 23.3 points per outing. Alexey Shved (Khimki) finished second with 22.2 points per game, while Keith Langford (UNICS) finished 3rd with 19.0 points per game. Note that previously the American forward became the Basketball Champions League top scorer having 20.3 points per game.

“Obviously, the VTB United League regular season top scorer award is a great personal accomplishment for me. It’s a special honor to get the award tonight after the end of the season at home in front of our fans. But I’ll continue to work hard to get better. I think we played well for the whole game. The score was close for three quarters but finally we were able to score some easy shots and create a score difference in the fourth quarter. It was the last game of the season for us. You know previously we made a lot of bad turnovers and we could crack them tonight and got the win.”
