Previous season the playmayker played for KRKA (Novo Mesto, Slovenia) and won the Slovenian regular championship. Malcolm Armstead was named the Best point guard in Adriatic League and was selected in the All-Adriatic League squad. The American playmayker was the main weapon in the Slovenian team offense and the best 1x1 basketballer of the League. Armstead became the top scorer of the regular championship scoring 17.56 points average per game. He was also the best on steals (2.12 avg. per game), as well as the fifth on assists (4.3 avg. per game) in the Adriatic League. Moreover, the American playmayker was named the Best foreign player and the Best Defensive Player of the League.

In the 2012/2013 season Wichita State led by Armstead advanced to the NCAA Final Four. Coming in Europe, Armstead led KRKA Novo Mesto to win the national championship, the Slovenian Cup and Supercup. He has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Slovenian Supercup.
