The visitors took their first lead on Jeremy Chappell's 3-pointer, but Derrick Brown sparked an 8-0 run that put Lokomotiv-Kuban ahead 10-3. After trailing by as many as nine in the second quarter, Chappell hit a fast-break layup to give Avtodor a 26-23 lead with 7 1/2 minutes remaining. The hosts responded with a quick 9-2 spurt, capped by two free throws by Nikita Kurbanov to grab the lead back.

Lokomotiv-Kuban took a 48-41 advantage into halftime and never trailed after that. The duo of Anthony Randolph and Richard Hendrix combined for 6 blocks in the first half.

Artem Klimenko and Malcolm Delaney got into a skirmish in the third quarter, and both were ejected from the game. Derrick Brown threw down a left-handed dunk to make it 87-70 with 3:42 left in regulation, helping the hosts gain their biggest lead of the night and it seemed like the game was over. But Avtodor's reserves scored 15 unanswered points to cut the gap to just two points (87-85) with 50 seconds left on the clock. Aleksandr Gudumak fouled Randolph on the inbounds pass with 30 seconds to go, but the American big man made both of his free throws and sealed the win for Krasnodar by 89-85.

Kyrylo Fesenko recorded his second straight double-double in the VTB United League (20 points and 10 rebounds). Micah Downs posted a double-double of his own with 19 points and 12 boards to go along with four assists. Courtney Fortson had a season-low 9 points on 3-of-12 shooting, but did hand out six assists.

Rihards Kuksiks and Alexey Golyakhov made their debuts for Avtodor after being signed earlier this past week. Kuksiks came to Saratov from Jekabpils, Latvia, and Golyakhov was playing for Spartak Vladivostok. Kuksiks had 2 points, three rebounds and an assist, and Golyakhov had three points, an assist, and a steal.

Avtodor fell below .500 (8-9), but still sits in seventh place in the league.
