Unfortunately, talent doesn't beat class. The young Avtodor team that played with a short Russian squad and was weakened by the absence of Aleksandr Petenev due to an ankle injury, just didn't have enough gasoline and emotions for the second playoffs game in 48 hours against the top club. UNICS reached a 20-point handicap before a half-time interval of play and finished the game with a maximum 38-point handicap. 27 combined points by Anton KVITKOVSKIKH and Nikita MIKHAILOVSKII didn't help Saratov to catch on to the game. The reigning EuroCup & VTB United League runner-up and the 2021-22 Euroleague of the current season surpassed our team in all statistical indicators. UNICS grabbed the board (42 to 23 on rebounds) and made less turnovers than the opponents (11 to 20). The Velimir Perasovich's team is now just one step away from reaching the VTB United League Semifinals.
The third game of the Quarterfinal series will be played in Saratov on Friday, 29th April, at 20.00.
